Luke Wright has been given the all-clear to take his place in England's ICC Champions Trophy squad.
The Sussex all-rounder passed a fitness test to confirm his recovery from a toe injury, the England and Wales Cricket Board confirmed.
Wright, 24, required stitches after being struck on the left foot by the bowling maching while batting in the nets on September 14.
He was ruled out of the final three matches of the NatWest Series due to the problem.
The decision comes earlier than expected as ECB medical officer Nick Peirce had previously indicated they would wait until after the NatWest Series concludes on Sunday to determine Wright's fitness.
It is nevertheless good news for an England team who are already without star players Kevin Pietersen and Andrew Flintoff due to injury, while Stuart Broad has also been sidelined with knee soreness.
Broad had, however, already been cleared to play in the Champions Trophy.
Wright's return to fitness ends the Champions Trophy hopes of Hampshire all-rounder Dimitri Mascarenhas.
Mascarenhas replaced Wright in England's NatWest Series squad and played in the fifth and sixth matches.
