Mascarenhas: Cover for Wright
Engand have added Dimitri Mascarenhas to their one-day squad as cover for Luke Wright.
Sussex all-rounder Wright required stitches in his left foot after being hit on the toe while batting against a bowling maching at the National Cricket Performance centre in Loughborough on Monday morning.
Hampshire's Mascarenhas will link up with the England squad ahead of the fifth NatWest one-day international against Australia at Trent Bridge on Tuesday.
Despite the short notice Mascarenhas - who has 18 ODI and 14 Twenty20 caps to his name - could find himself pitched straight into action if Wright is not passed fit.
With fellow all-rounder Paul Collingwood rested for the Nottingham leg of the one-day tour, Wright's potential absence would leave England short in that area.
Australia hold an unassailable 4-0 lead in the seven-match NatWest Series.
