Steyn: Cleared
Cricket South Africa has confirmed that Bangalore Royal Challengers paceman Dale Steyn has been cleared of any doping violation during his time in the Indian Premier League.
Earlier this week, the 26-year-old South Africa international had been asked to explain a drugs test earlier this year that found elevated levels of morphine in his system.
However, IPL chairman Lalit Modi has already denied that any player tested positive during the tests and Cricket South Africa has now confirmed that Steyn has been cleared.
CSA chief executive officer Gerald Majola said: "There was a discrepancy in the result of a doping test during the IPL, but the authorities are perfectly satisfied with the explanation that Dale has provided.
"They have confirmed that no offence has been committed."
It is believed the increased levels of morphine were caused by painkillers taken to alleviate a chronic migraine problem.
