Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza is heading to Australia to receive further medical advice about a knee problem. Mortaza, 25, damaged the joint in July while bowling in the first Test against West Indies in St Vincent. He missed the remainder of Bangladesh's tour of the Caribbean amid fears he requires an operation and up to a year on the sidelines. The Bangladesh Cricket Board have confirmed Mortaza is to leave for Melbourne on August 6 to consult orthopaedic surgeon David Young.
