Skipper staying on at the Rose Bowl for another two years

Hampshire captain Nic Pothas has committed himself to the club until the end of 2011. The South Africa-born wicketkeeper, now 35, moved to the Rose Bowl in 2002 and is delighted to be staying on. "I am extremely happy to be with Hampshire for at least the next two years," Pothas said. "It was probably one of the easiest decisions I've had to make in a while. The club has some great ambitions for the future and I definitely see myself as being an integral part of that." Giles White, Hampshire first-team manager, added: "Nic is one of those guys that every county would kill to have in their side, so its fantastic to know that he will be at the club scoring runs, taking catches and helping nurture some of the younger talent that we have in our squad for the years to come."
