All-rounder Bresnan, 24, and leg-spinner Rashid, 21, are now contracted to Headingley until the end of the 2011 season.

Bresnan has played in England's Test and one-day series against West Indies this summer, while Rashid is a member of the squad for the forthcoming ICC World Twenty20.

"I'm delighted to be pledging my future to Yorkshire County Cricket Club," Bresnan told the county's official website.

"It's a massive club and where I've spent most of my youth playing in the juniors and things, so it's fantastic.

Atmosphere

"The club lures big players into its atmosphere. The white rose is massive for anyone who knows the history of the club."

Rashid added: "I've loved playing cricket for Yorkshire so it wasn't a big decision to extend my current deal by three-years.

"The county is definitely moving in the right direction and I want to be a part of the future success at the club. There is a huge amount of talent here and we're all pulling for each other."

Director of cricket Martyn Moxon believes the pair's commitment is an indication of a bright future for the county.

"We have been assessing where our strengths lie as a club, ensuring the quality players that will be the spine that we build the side around in the future are signed up, happy and comfortable with their situation at Yorkshire ," he said.

"It is fantastic news that Tim Bresnan and Adil Rashid want to be part of our progress over the coming years."
