England fast bowler ready to step up rehabilitation from knee problem

Amjad Khan could return to action in two weeks time after making good progress following his recent knee injury. The Kent paceman, 28, suffered cartilage damage during England's tour of the Caribbean but has been cleared by consultant Andrew Williams to push ahead with his rehabilitation. A statement from the England and Wales Cricket Board read: "(Khan) visited leading knee consultant Andrew Williams in London last week and Mr Williams declared himself pleased with how things are progressing. "Khan will start running at the end of next week and, providing everything goes okay, could be bowling two weeks later." The ECB medical team, in harness with fast bowling coach Kevin Shine, will continue to work with Kent on a comeback programme for the Danish-born fast bowler.
