Umpires raise concerns about legality of spinner's bowling action

Pakistan off-spinner Saeed Ajmal has had his bowling action reported to the International Cricket Council (ICC). Umpires Asad Rauf and Billy Bowden, in conjunction with third and fourth officials Zameer Haider and Nadeem Ghouri, reported Ajmal at the end of the second one-day international against Australia in Dubai. The umpires have monitored Ajmal's action in both matches of the series and have now decided to refer it. ICC analysis of the bowler's action must now take place inside 21 days of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) receiving the report. Ajmal, 31,can continue to bowl until receipt of independent analysis by the PCB. Pakistan captain Younus Khan, meanwhile, has lost 50 percent of his match fee from the second ODI after his side came up four overs short of the required rate.
