Vikram Solanki is to succeed Dougie Brown as chairman of the Professional Cricketers' Association.
"I am honoured that the players have chosen me to represent them as their chairman. I intend to build on the superb work already being undertaken by the PCA, in acting in the best interests of our members and driving the game forward."

The Worcestershire captain, 32, was elected ahead of Shaun Udal, Dominic Cork, Mal Loye, Michael Brown and Stephen Peters in a keenly-fought race.

PCA chief executive Sean Morris added: "The office of chairman is a crucial role in the PCA, and I'm looking forward to welcoming Vikram into our senior management team.
