Sri Lanka have called up uncapped batsman Tharanga Paranavitana and paceman Suranga Lakmal for the two-Test series in Pakistan.
Opening batsman Michael Vandoort and fast bowler Dammika Prasad, members of the squad that toured Bangladesh last December, are both dropped.
Sri Lanka are scheduled to play Tests in Karachi (Feb 22-26) and Lahore (Mar 2-6).
Meanwhile, Tillakaratne Dilshan will captain Sri Lanka in the one-off Twenty20 match against India February 10.
The selectors have opted to rest regular skipper Mahela Jayawardene, his deputy Kumar Sangakkara and spinners Muttiah Muralitharan and Ajantha Mendis for the fixture in Colombo, which follows a five-match one-day series between the sides.
Fast bowler Lasith Malinga, who has been out of international cricket for almost a year due to a knee injury, could make his return after being named in a 15-man Twenty20 squad.
