Upul Tharanga has the opportunity to stake a claim for a Test place against India after being called up for a Sri Lanka Board XI to take on the tourists in a warm-up match.
The two countries will meet in a three-Test series, beginning on July 23, and will then play five one-day internationals.
Tharanga was dropped from the Sri Lankan Test team after the third and final Test against England last year.
He also missed the recent Asia Cup, which Sri Lanka won in Karachi earlier this month.
However the left-handed opener, who has scored 713 runs in 15 Tests, will have the chance to prove his form in the three-day match which begins on Friday in Colombo.
Also in the 12-man squad is fast bowler Dilhara Fernando and batsman Chamara Silva, who are expected to figure in the Test series.
Sri Lanka Board XI: Jehan Mubarak (capt), Mahela Udawatte, Upul Tharanga, Chamara Kapugedera, Chamara Silva, Thilina Kandamby, Kaushal Silva, Chanaka Welagedera, Sujeewa Silva, Dammika Prasad, Rangana Herath, Dilhara Fernando.
