Leicestershire have completed the signing of young Lancashire paceman Tom Smith on a month-long loan.
The 22-year-old former England Academy member has found first-team opportunities at Old Trafford limited this season.
The return to fitness of England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff has also seen Smith fall even further down the pecking order at the North West club.
Smith, who can be recalled at any time by Lancashire, will be available for Sunday's LV County Championship Division Two encounter with Worcestershire.
Lancashire cricket manager Mike Watkinson said: "Tom has recently missed seven weeks of cricket due to a thigh injury.
"This loan spell is a great opportunity for him to get some regular first-team experience on his return to action."
