David Sales has signed a new four-year contract with Northamptonshire.
The 30-year-old middle-order batsman has spent his entire career at Wantage Road, captaining the county from 2004-07, and is now committed until the end of the 2012 season.
He represented England at Under 19 and A team level earlier in his career but, despite scoring heavily in the domestic game in recent years, has failed to interest the national selectors.
"I am delighted to announce that I will be staying at the club for the next four years," Sales told the county's official website.
"The club is certainly heading in the right direction and I am looking forward to being a part of building a successful culture.
"This contract means I will go along way to finishing my career at the club I started at which means a lot to me."
