Four new players have been added to Cricket Australia's (CA) list of 25 contracted players for the 2008-09 season.
Opener Chris Rogers, who made his Test debut for the world's top side against India at the WACA in January, has been dropped along with the internationally retired trio of Adam Gilchrist, Brad Hogg and Jason Gillespie.
South Australian twin brothers and spin bowlers Cullen Bailey and Daniel Cullen have also gone, while paceman Doug Bollinger, spin bowler Beau Casson, batsman David Hussey - the brother of current Test star Michael - and Shaun Marsh, who is the son of former Test opener Geoff, are included for the first time.
The list is surprisingly light on openers with only Hayden and Phil Jaques included for the next 12 months, meaning Rogers will miss out on the base retainer paid to players and levelled out according to a player ranking system.
Batsman Simon Katich and Queensland bowler Ashley Noffke are reinstated to the band of elite players after missing out last year.
Troubled fast bowler Shaun Tait has also been included, despite the player's announcement he would take an indefinite break from the game.
And chairman of selectors Andrew Hilditch believes the contract list contains a good balance between experienced players and emerging talent.
"We are now facing the challenge of continuing to perform at our best, against the best, while going through the rebuilding process," Hilditch said.
"We believe the current group of players we have selected are more than capable of helping us to achieve this task."
