Shoaib Akhtar is facing being hit by a life ban by the Pakistan Cricket Board following his criticisms of the national body.
Shoaib angrily blasted the PCB after they questioned the 32-year-old's fitness on the tour to India in December.
Shoaib was asked to explain his comments, however his initial failure to respond left top PCB officials infuriated with his actions.
And although Shoaib has now replied, he faces a hefty punishment - especially as he is currently on probation following his altercation with Mohammad Asif before the Twenty20 World Cup in South Africa.
PCB chairman Nasim Ashraf told The Dawn: "Shoaib has replied to the notice served to him on February 11 along with Danish Kaneria for openly criticising the PCB.
"Though I have yet to see that reply, Shoaib may face a life ban for his misconduct for which I may either take a direct decision or refer the case to the disciplinary committee."
