Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has been struck down with a viral fever and is a doubt for the second Test against India in Kolkata, which starts on Friday.
Shoaib complained about feeling fatigued and was sent to local hospital for a check-up.
"It is nothing serious. He (Shoaib) is just suffering from viral fever, " said Pakistan media manager Javed Akhtar.
"He will be fit in two days and hopefully will play the second Test match."
Shoaib picked up six wickets during Pakistan's six-wicket defeat in the opening Test.
Batsman Misbah-ul Haq is also recovering well after suffering from a fever and throat infection during the first Test.
