Tait replaced by Australia

Aussies turn to fledgling fast bowler with Shaun Tait injured

Hilfenhaus: Responsibility on his shoulders

Tasmania paceman Ben Hilfenhaus has been called into Australia's 14-man squad for their tour of India.

Fast bowler Shaun Tait had been set to travel on the tour after undergoing an operation on his right elbow in June.

But the ICC's Emerging Player of the Year failed to recover in time to make the ICC World Twenty20 and is still not back to bowling at full tilt.

Australian physio Alex Kountouris does not want the starlet rushed and so will continue to help with his recovery back at home.

The physio said: "Shaun is making significant progress and has commenced bowling.

"But it has been decided that he will miss the tour of India to optimise his rehabilitation by taking part in a series of games in South Australia."

The world champions take on Sri Lanka in a semi-final decider live on Sky Sports 1 from 8.30am on Thursday before leaving South Africa for India on 25th September.

They then embark on a seven-match One-Day International series against Mahendra Singh Dhoni's side from 29th September to 17th October.

Australia's resilience will be tested still further, if Ricky Ponting fails to return from his hamstring injury in time.
