England bowler Chris Jordan keen to play in Indian Premier League

Chris Jordan has admitted he would like to experience the glamour of the Indian Premier League.

Jordan’s England team-mates Eoin Morgan and Ravi Bopara will take part in the lucrative Twenty20 competition next month, playing for the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The tournament has been regarded warily by the England and Wales Cricket Board as it clashes with the start of the county season and international programme.

England have been criticised for shunning the IPL after they crashed out of the 50-over World Cup in Australia and New Zealand in the group stage.

And Jordan believes the tournament in India improves players’ skills.

"Most people would like the opportunity," the fast bowler said.

"Do I feel disadvantaged? It's hard to say because I haven't played in that league to know how it would effect my game.

"Playing in those leagues does improve cricketers and if I do get the opportunity I'd love to play."

Barbados-born Jordan is set to feature when England round off their World Cup campaign with a dead rubber Pool A match against Afghanistan in Sydney on Friday.

But he insists there is no need for a clearout of players despite their disappointing campaign.

"There's loads of talent not just in that dressing room but in the whole of England," he added.

"We've beaten some good teams in the past and we will beat good teams in the future. I don't think there needs to be wholesale changes."
