Pakistan will host their first official tour since the Lahore terror attacks in 2009, when Kenya play five ODIs against the country's second-string side next month.

All five matches will take place in Lahore at Gaddafi Stadium, the same ground where the bus driving the Sri Lanka team was attacked in March 2009.

Seven people, including policemen and security officials, were killed while seven members of the Sri Lanka team and other members of the touring party sustained injuries.

Since the tragic incident, Pakistan have played home series in the United Arab Emirates although they did host an unofficial ODI series against Afghanistan in 2011 with matches taking place in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Faisalabad.

Encourage

The first match of the series between Pakistan A and Kenya will be on December 13, with the fifth and final game on December 20.

Pakistan are keen to encourage Test-playing nations back to the country, with the visit of Kenya viewed as a first step in that direction after Bangladesh pulled out of a proposed tour last year. Ireland also withdrew from a planned ODI series in September after attacks in Karachi.

"We have been making efforts to bring smaller teams to Pakistan and the object is to open the door for teams to our country, and we have got the government's clearance on that," said Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Shaharyar Khan.

Khan last month visited Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and India to lobby for tours to resume.
