New South Wales have claimed the Sheffield Shield for the 46th time in their history after the state championship final against Western Australia ended in a draw.
Having finished top of the table after the regular season, NSW just needed to avoid defeat at Canberra's Manuka Oval to clinch the title for the first time in six years.
And with weather having hampered play on Monday, NSW were able to safely reach their goal of denying Western Australia.
Moises Henriques had scored 140 in their first innings total of 447, with Western Australia mustering just 180 in reply – with Josh Hazlewood ripping through their batting order to take 6-50.
Captain Steven Smith then guided NSW to 197-4 with a superb 103 not out when both sides agreed to accept a draw.
