Hampshire's Owais Shah has been penalised by the England and Wales Cricket Board for an incident in the T20 Blast match against Middlesex.
The ECB has given Shah a reprimand after he was reported by umpires Mark Benson, Martin Saggers and Michael Gough for a level one breach – in this instance, using language that is obscene, offensive or insulting and/or making an obscene gesture.
The penalty will remain on his record for a period of two years and the accumulation of nine or more penalty points in any two-year period will result in an automatic suspension.
Shah scored 58 runs in the match, which Hampshire won by 19 runs.
