Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has appealed to have his six-month suspension reduced.
Shakib was banned by his country's cricket authorities for "a severe attitude problem" and accused of going to play in the Caribbean Premier League Twenty20 tournament without permission.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board also suspended him from overseas competitions until the end of 2015.
Shakib met with BCB chief Nazmul Hassan earlier this week and has now thrown himself at the mercy of the board.
He said: "I admitted that my behaviour was not mature. I apologise for this. In future it will not happen again.
"I have always been with cricket and will remain with cricket. I want to play cricket for Bangladesh."
Nizam Uddin Chowdhury, the BCB's acting chief executive, said: "The appeal will be resolved at the earliest."
