Nottinghamshire keeper Chris Read has been warned about his behaviour by the ECB after an incident against Yorkshire.

He was reported by umpires Martin Saggers and Alex Wharf during their LV= County Championship Division One clash earlier this week.

Read was run out in controversial circumstances on day one at Headingley, colliding with Yorkshire bowler Steve Patterson which allowed Jack Leaning to throw down his stumps from mid-on.

He responded with 75 in the second innings as Nottinghamshire secured a draw.

Read was found guilty of a Level 1 breach of the ECB disciplinary code (showing dissent at an umpire’s decision by word or action).

The reprimand will remain on Read's record for a period of two years and the accumulation of nine or more penalty points in any two year period will result in an automatic suspension.
