Lancashire have released batsman Stephen Moore, just two years after he was an important member of their 2011 County Championship-winning side.
Moore made over 1,000 runs that season, as Lancashire claimed a first title since 1934, but he has struggled to recapture that form.
The 32-year-old has been restricted to just two first-class appearances this season and Lancashire have opted not to renew his contract.
Cricket director Mike Watkinson said: "The club would like to thank Stephen for his contributions in recent seasons.
"We have not been able to create regular places for him in all competitions and hopefully he will pursue options elsewhere.
"He goes with our best wishes."
And head coach Peter Moores added: "Stephen has been an outstanding member of the squad over the last three years and had a major influence in the championship winning team in 2011.
"Through a lack of opportunity in four-day cricket it has been decided to allow him to look to for opportunities elsewhere. I would like to thank him for all he has given to the team in his time with us."
