England look set to name an unchanged side for the third Ashes Test with Australia at Old Trafford which starts at 11am today.

Kevin Pietersen came through a fitness test on Wednesday after picking up a calf injury in the Lord's victory last time out.

That means James Taylor, brought into the squad primarily as cover for Pietersen, is likely to miss out.

Spinner Monty Panesar may also be restricted to bringing on the drinks, with a dry Old Trafford track expected to favour pace bowlers.

That may offer an opportunity for pace bowler Chris Tremlett though, who may just get the nod ahead of Tim Bresnan.

David Warner is likely to come into the Australia side after regaining some form for his country's 'A' team.

Phillip Hughes may make way after three successive low scores, although Steve Smith is struggling with a sore back.

Alastair Cook's side lead the five-Test series 2-0 and require just a draw to retain the Ashes.

What will be the result at Old Trafford?

  • England win
  • Australia win
  • Draw
  • Tie
