Northants have confirmed that pace bowler Trent Copeland will be returning to the county for three of the last five County Championship games of the 2013 season.
Copeland made a massive impact at the County Ground over the first half of the summer, taking 36 wickets at an average of only 16.25 and adding 197 runs in a lower order role.
The Australian returned home to play for New South Wales but Northants were keen to get him back and he will be available for games against Essex, Glamorgan and Hampshire.
Northants head coach David Ripley said: "This news will give everybody involved with Northants a lift.
"Trent made an outstanding contribution in his first stint with us, both on and off the field, we look forward to welcoming both him and his wife Kim back to the County Ground."
Copeland's return is a massive boost to Northants in their bid to win Division Two or at the very least claim promotion.
They sit one point behind current leaders Lancashire and 38 points ahead of third-placed Worcestershire, although they both have a game in hand.
