Matt Prior has moved into the top 10 of latest Reliance ICC Test Player Rankings for the first-time.

The England wicket-keeper's rise comes on the back of his stirring unbeaten 110 in the Auckland Test, spearheading a thrilling final day rearguard action to secure a draw and deny New Zealand a series win.

The century, his seventh in Tests, helped him jump four places to 10th position with a best-ever 745 ratings points.

Captain Alastair Cook is the only other Englishman in the top ten, stays in sixth place, with Hashim Amla topping the standings ahead of Shivnarine Chanderpaul and AB de Villiers.

In the bowling rankings, the South African duo Dale Steyn and Vernon Philander remain the top-rated performers.

James Anderson is the highest-ranked Englishman with 740 points, seven ahead of Graeme Swann who - despite missing the three Tests in New Zealand - remains in eighth place, in front of Morne Morkel and India's Pragyan Ojha.
