Waters and Glover sign on through 2014 season

Glamorgan seam duo Huw Waters and John Glover have signed new deals keeping them at the club until the end of the 2014 season. Waters, who made his debut in 2005, has been in fine form this season after returning from injury, including career-best figures of 7-53 against Hampshire in championship action at the SWALEC Stadium. After taking wickets with his first two balls in the opening match of the season against Leicestershire at Grace Road, Waters is still ranked amongst the leading seam bowlers in Division Two. Glover made his debut for the county last year and recorded his best figures of 4-76 against Hampshire at Southampton at the end of May. He also played a vital role, hitting 21 runs off 17 balls, as Glamorgan beat Northamptonshire in the championship. Head of elite performance Matthew Mott has been delighted with the pair and believes securing their futures for an additional two years has boosted the team.

Consistent

"Huw's had a fantastic season, especially after the frustrations of last year," explained Mott. "He's consistently one of the better bowlers on the county circuit, a fantastic pro who is committed to Glamorgan, so this is a great boost for the club. "John's emerged this year and bowled well consistently. He's got a great temperament and his match-winning score at Northampton showed off his all-round skills. Although he's still inexperienced, he seems to get better with every game he plays. "The club continues to finalise its squad line up for the 2013 season, but securing these two players is a real boost for the team. We believe both Huw and John have a big part to play in our future."
