Young seamer takes up one-year option with Leicestershire

Leicestershire pace bowler Nathan Buck has extended his existing contract with the Foxes until the end of the 2013 season. The 20-year-old seamer, who represented England Lions in the winter, has impressed in his first three seasons with the county, taking 82 first-class wickets. Buck has missed the start of Leicestershire's 2012 campaign due to a back injury, but hopes to make a swift return after penning a one-year extension to his current deal. "I'd like to thank the club for the opportunity to showcase my skills and I'm looking forward to helping the club continue to progress," he said. "I'm really pleased to commit my future to Leicestershire CCC and look forward to getting back onto the field soon. "The lads have had a great start to the season and I can't wait to contribute to it. It has been a frustrating time but I'm staying positive." Chief executive Mike Siddall added: "We are all delighted that Nathan has signed an extension to his contract. "He had an exceptional winter with England Lions and we look forward to him continuing that form for Leicestershire when he is fully fit."
