All-rounder commits to Gloucestershire until end of 2014 season
Gloucestershire all-rounder Will Gidman has signed a new two-year contract extension.
Gidman was the county's player of the year last season having completed the rare double of 1,000 runs and 50 wickets in the LV= County Championship.
The new agreement ties Gidman to the club until the end of the 2014 campaign.
"I thoroughly enjoyed my first season with Gloucestershire and I am excited at the prospect of being part of a young improving side over the next three summers," Gidman said.
Gloucestershire's director of cricket John Bracewell added: "In his debut season for GCCC and in first-class cricket, Will was no doubt the outstanding performer in both divisions of the LV= County Championship.
"We are delighted to have secured his long-term future at the Club.
"Genuine all-rounders are a rare breed, especially ones capable of performing in all formats of the game."
Captain Alex Gidman said: "All captains want a high quality all-rounder in their teams. It's fun having my brother in the side, but more importantly Will has quickly become a key figure in our line-up with both bat and ball."
