All-rounder impressed during Somerset's Champions League run

Somerset all-rounder Peter Trego is the latest county star to sign up to play Twenty20 cricket in Zimbabwe. Trego will represent Mashonoland Eagles alongside Rory Hamilton-Brown of Surrey and Essex's Ryan ten Doeschate. The trio join fellow county players Phil Mustard of Durham and Essex's Adam Wheater in the competition. "Rory, Ryan and myself are all off to Zimbabwe to play in their domestic T20 as the overseas players for Mashonaland Eagles in Harare - the team Nick Compton played for last year," Trego told Somerset's official website. "That competition takes place between November 24th and December 4th but I will be flying out early net week to play in some warm up games against Kenya. "My performances for Somerset in the Champions League have obviously been noticed and this is a very good opportunity for me to further learn my role as opening bat or number three in what looks to be a much improved competition. "Word on the street is that Shaun Tait and Chris Gayle will also be playing for teams out there so some big names will be overseas pros out there, so it's pretty exciting for me."
