Graham Onions has replaced Chris Woakes in England's squad for the rest of the one-day international tour of India after the latter was ruled out with a thigh strain.
Woakes has not featured in either of England's two defeats so far in the five-match series, which continues with the third contest in Mohali on Thursday.
Onions has not played for England since January 2010, with the Durham seamer having his international career interrupted by a serious back injury.
"England bowler Chris Woakes has today been ruled out of the remainder of England's one-day international tour of India due to a left quadriceps strain," a statement from the England and Wales Cricket Board said.
"Woakes suffered the injury on Sunday during England practice in Delhi and will now undertake a rehabilitation period that rules him out of the remaining three ODIs against India.
"Durham's Graham Onions has been called into the squad as a replacement and will join the England squad in Mumbai ahead of the fourth ODI."
