Warwickshire off-spinner Maurice Holmes has been reported to the England and Wales Cricket Board for a suspected illegal bowling action.
Holmes, 21, is already being dubbed the 'English Murali' for the similarity in his methods and those of the great Sri Lankan spinner.
But he was reported by umpires twice in the last month, with his 'doosra' - the off-spinner's googly - apparently attracting concern.
If the umpires confirm their original reports, the Loughborough student - who has so far played just one county championship match - will have to have his action examined again by the England and Wales Cricket Board.
Holmes' registration with Warwickshire was initially delayed for a year when the ECB first decided he needed to remodel his action.
He can continue playing for Warwickshire until a decision is made on the legality of his action.
