Batsman brought in to add "power" to Dynamos

Durham have agreed a deal with South Africa batsman David Miller which will see him represent the county in the Friends Provident t20 competition this season. Miller, 21, is a powerful middle-order batsman who has played for the Proteas in both one-day and Twenty20 formats. He plays his domestic cricket for the Dolphins, where he has previously teamed up with Durham t20 captain Dale Benkenstein. Miller said: "This will be my first time joining a club in the UK as an overseas player and I'm really looking forward to making my mark. "I'm excited about joining up with Dale and the rest of the squad, I've heard plenty of good things about the club and their ambition to do well in this format and I think I can contribute significantly." Durham coach Geoff Cook added: "We really benefitted from having the extra power in the batting line up last season with Ross Taylor and Albie Morkel so we're pleased to be able to add David to our current line up to strengthen the middle-order. "David played alongside our t20 captain Dale Benkenstein in 2010 over in South Africa and Dale was really impressed by his talent, we're delighted to have him on board."
