James Hildreth blasted Somerset to a 42-run victory over the Combined Colleges and Campuses at the Caribbean T20, although it was not enough to extend their interest in the competition.
Hildreth hit 69 not out off 58 balls in the Cidermen's total of 165-4 after they opted to bat first at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.
He received good support from Nick Compton (44) during a second-wicket stand of 90 and from Craig Meschade (26no) in the final few overs.
Paceman Steve Kirby picked up 3-26 as the Combined Colleges and Campuses finished short on 123-7 in reply.
Somerset, however, missed out on a place in the semi-finals after finishing third in Group A behind the Windward Islands and Jamaica.
