Harris passed fit for Perth

Scan clears fast bowler of shoulder injury

Harris: cleared for Perth showdown

Australia paceman Ryan Harris is available for the third Ashes Test against England, starting in Perth on December 16.

The 31-year-old was in doubt for the game after appearing to injure his shoulder while bowling in Australia's second Test loss in Adelaide.

But a scan has cleared the fast bowler of any serious damage and he is able to bowl unrestricted.

Harris has had injury concerns in the past, and the Adelaide Test was his first in nine months after he suffered a knee injury in a one-day international match against England in July.

He was the pick of the home side's bowlers in Adelaide, with figures of 2-84 from his 29 overs in England's only innings, and his availability is a boost for the beleaguered Australian side already missing opener Simon Katich with an Achilles tendon injury.

Australia's selectors plan to name their squad for Perth on Friday.
