Notts 15/8 favourites to be crowned t20 champions

After 148 games, just four teams remain in the running to win this season's Friends Provident t20, with Nottinghamshire the 15/8 favourites according to Sky Bet. The Rose Bowl will play host to the inaugural Friends Provident t20 finals day, with hosts Hampshire no doubt well supported on Saturday. However, the Royals, who will be without England star Kevin Pietersen and opener Michael Lumb, are 7/2 outsiders to lift the trophy on Saturday evening. Essex overcame Lancashire in an exciting quarter-final last month and have been installed at 10/3 by Sky Bet to be crowned champions. Somerset are the only team of the four semi-finalists to have won a Twenty20 competition previously, having tasted glory in the Twenty20 Cup in 2005. The Sabres are 9/4 second-favourites this weekend. The first semi-final sees Hampshire (evens) face Essex (4/5) at 11.30am, before the second semi-final at 3pm between Nottinghamshire (4/5) and Somerset (evens). Sky Bet favour an Eagles-Outlaws final at 12/5, followed by a Hampshire-Nottinghamshire showpiece at 11/4. The outside bet, though it cannot be ruled out, is the Royals against the Sabres at 16/5. The online bookmaker are offering markets on the top batsman and leading wicket taker ahead of finals day, with plenty of familiar names to choose from. Somerset captain Marcus Trescothick (7/1) is favourite to be the top run scorer on Saturday, ahead of Hampshire's Jimmy Adams and Essex all-rounder Ravi Bopara (8/1). One of England's heroes at the Twenty20 World Cup, Craig Kieswetter, is a 10/1 shot while Alastair Cook and David Hussey are both 12/1. Nottinghamshire are well represented in the top bowler betting, with Graeme Swann (8/1), Stuart Broad (10/1), Dirk Nannes (10/1) and Ryan Sidebottom (14/1) among the front-runners according to Sky Bet's cricket compilers. Swann is joint-favourite with Alfonso Thomas while Pakistan and Essex spinner Danish Kaneria can be backed at a price of 14/1. Finally, Sky Bet offer odds of 4/1 (1/7 no) for a century to be scored on finals day, while it's 10/11 (4/5 no) for a maiden to be bowled.
