Spinner praises England's strength in depth

Michael Yardy hailed England's versatility after they secured a five-wicket triumph over South Africa in their ICC World Twenty20 warm-up. Eoin Morgan played a key role in the win with a notable contribution of 63 after the top three were all dismissed early on, but left-arm spinner Yardy also starred with the ball. Yardy took two more wickets to add to his three in England's first warm-up win over Bangladesh on Wednesday as his side restricted South Africa for 125 for five. Following the win, Sussex captain Yardy heaped praise on the collective talent in the England squad.

Versatile

"The squad is very versatile. I think we're covered in all bases," said Yardy. "As we showed today, we lost three early wickets but still won against a very good team." Morgan made his mark with a 53-ball half-ton, after Kevin Pietersen had made a first-ball duck on his comeback to the side. "Eoin Morgan obviously played fantastically well, supported by Paul Collingwood and Tim Bresnan and Wrighty (Luke Wright) at the end to finish it off," added Yardy. Yardy was also impressed by England's performance in the field, adding: "What we did well was limit them early; I think they were five off three overs. "That put the momentum in our favour. Then we took a wicket and made it difficult for them to claw it back until the last overs, because you obviously want to keep wickets in hand."
