Jayawardene, Udawatte and Chandimal join squad in Bangladesh

Sri Lanka have added Mahela Jayawardene, Mahela Udawatte and Dinesh Chandimal to their squad at the ongoing triangular one-day series in Bangladesh. Experienced batsman Jayawardene was not originally selected for the tournament, which also involves the hosts and India, due to injury. But he has now recovered sufficiently to join the squad and, along with opener Udawatte and uncapped wicketkeeper Chandimal, will link up with his team-mates on Wednesday. The call-ups follow injuries to middle-order batsman Chamara Silva, who has been ruled out of the tournament with a broken thumb, as well as opener Tillakaratne Dilshan and all-rounder Muthumudalige Pushpakumara, who are under observation. Dilshan suffered a groin injury on Monday on his away to a match-winning century in the opening match against Bangladesh and missed the five-wicket win over India on Tuesday. "He is not ruled out yet but we will assess his situation before our next match to see if he can play," Sri Lanka team manager Brendon Kuruppu said. Pushpakumara injured his right shoulder while fielding during the India match. Sri Lanka's next fixture is against Bangladesh in Dhaka on Friday.
