Promising Ireland batsman Paul Stirling has agreed a three-year contract with Middlesex. The 19-year-old is centrally contracted to Ireland and will be unavailable for Middlesex when required by his country. Stirling averages 25.60 in his six ODIs for Ireland, impressing for the Emerald Isle against England this summer, top-scoring with 30 off 26 balls. Angus Fraser, Middlesex's managing director of cricket, said: "Paul has been involved with the Middlesex youth sides and second XI and we are delighted that he has now signed a full-time contract for the club. "His batting for Ireland in 2009 highlighted his potential. Paul has a central contract with Cricket Ireland and we are happy that representing Ireland will be his priority for the time being."
