Sri Lanka fast bowler Thilan Thushara has been ruled out of the remainder of the Test series against India due to a shoulder injury.
The left-arm paceman injured his shoulder during practice on the eve of the ongoing first Test in Ahmedabad and was ruled out of the match.
Sri Lanka Cricket have now confirmed that Thushara will travel back home to recover from the injury with Dilhara Fernando named as his replacement.
"Thilan Thushara will return to Sri Lanka due to a shoulder injury and will probably not be match fit for approximately two to four weeks," a Sri Lanka Cricket statement said.
"Dilhara Fernando would be brought in as a replacement."
Thushara is also likely to miss the two Twenty20 internationals and the five ODIs that follow the three-Test series.
Fernando is expected to join the squad in time for the second Test which starts in Kanpur on November 24.
