Mathews, Lakmal and Silva all in contention for Test debut

Sri Lanka have included three uncapped players in a 15-man squad for the first Test against Pakistan in Galle, starting on July 4. All-rounder Angelo Mathews, who impressed at the recent ICC World Twenty20, wicketkeeper Kaushal Silva and fast bowler Suranga Lakmal are the new faces in the party. Middle-order batsman Chamara Kapugedera is back in favour after being overlooked for the World Twenty20, where Sri Lanka lost in the final to Pakistan. But experienced seamers Chaminda Vaas and Dilhara Fernando are both omitted, while regular wicketkeeper Prasanna Jayawardene is ruled out due to a finger injury. The series opener in Galle is followed by two Tests in Colombo - at the P.Sara Oval (Jul 12-16) and the SSC (Jul 20-24).
