Ajmal's action cleared by ICC

Pakistan slow bowler free to play at the ICC World Twenty20 in June

Ajmal: All above board

Pakistan off-spinner Saeed Ajmal has been cleared to keep bowling by the International Cricket Council.

Ajmal's bowling action, with a 'doosra' that spins away from right handed batsman in his arsenal, was reported by umpires after Pakistan's second One-Day International against Australia in Dubai in April.

ICC cricket general manager David Richardson said: "Saeed Ajmal can continue to bowl in international cricket on the basis he uses an action consistent to that used in the latest independent analysis of his action.

"During a comprehensive analysis it was revealed that the amount of elbow extension in Saeed's bowling action for all deliveries was within the 15-degree level of tolerance permitted in the ICC regulations."

Ajmal is now free to take up his invitation to join Pakistan's squad for the ICC World Twenty20 event in England in June.
