Former England seamer Dominic Cork has reacted angrily to the Pakistan Cricket Board's criticism of Chris Broad.
Broad, in his role as International Cricket Council match referee, was caught up in Tuesday's terrorist attacks on the buses carrying the Sri Lanka team and match officials to the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore for the third day of the second Test against Pakistan.
Along with umpires Simon Taufel and Steve Davis, he emerged unscathed from the incident, but six policemen were killed and local umpire Ahsan Raza suffered a bullet wound to his stomach, while seven Sri Lankan players and assistant coach Paul Farbrace also suffered injuries.
Speaking on his return to England,
Broad attacked the Pakistan security forces which he claimed had left them like "sitting ducks", and also admitted his reservations about how the situation unfolded.
But
PCB chief Ijaz Butt said Broad's claims were "fabricated" and plans to lodge a complaint with the ICC.
Cork, who was in Lahore on television commentary duty, narrowly escaped the incident and is furious about what he is hearing from Butt.

"I can't believe that he can come out and say such words about Chris Broad," he told
Sky Sports News.
"They were left in the middle of a roundabout with an ambulance next to them and not even one policeman around.
"If Ijaz Butt believes that that security was good enough for international sportsmen and officials then he is wrong.
"They were promised presidential-level security and Ijaz Butt is completely and utterly out of order.
"I'm reading your reports and am getting angry because I'm thinking 'these people are just trying to save their jobs'. They aren't thinking about the bigger picture.
"The security wasn't good enough - fact. International cricketers and umpires were nearly taken out."
