Former England star joins rebel Twenty20 competition

Veteran batsman Graeme Hick has signed up for the rebel Indian Cricket League for the remainder of the competition. The former England batsman has signed for Chandigarh Lions after they lost both New Zealander Chris Cairns and India's Dinesh Mongia to suspension. The 42-year-old joins a team that is in fifth place in the round robin stage of the Twenty20 tournament, which is not sanctioned by the ICC. Now retired from first-class cricket, Hick will not be affected by the sanctions imposed on players taking part in the rebel ICL. Hick played 65 Tests for England and ended his 25-year career at the end of the 2008 season after scoring 41,112 runs.
