Veteran seamer moves to south coast

Former England seamer Dominic Cork has joined Hampshire on a two-year deal. Cork was out of contract after being released by Lancashire following five seasons at Old Trafford. The 37-year-old has now agreed to extend his first-class career on the south coast with Hampshire, who finished third in Division One of the LV County Championship in 2008. "I'm joining a club that are going places both on and off the field," Cork told Sky Sports News. "I still feel like I have lot left to offer in this game, there are still things I want to achieve." Cork also revealed he was a man in demand after Lancashire decided he was surplus to requirements. "There were some quite good options out there, mainly in the first division," he added. "But Hampshire were always the club I wanted to join." Cork started his domestic career at Derbyshire in 1990 and has taken 895 first-class wickets at an average of 26.62. He played 37 Tests and 32 one-day internationals for England from 1992-2002.
