Former England one-day player continues his association with Smith

Jeremy Snape is to rejoin South Africa's coaching set-up for their tour to Australia this winter. The former England one-day player - who has a masters degree in sports psychology - was signed up as performance coach ahead of the Proteas' successful Test series against England this summer. He first worked with South Africa captain Graeme Smith during the Indian Premier League earlier this year. Their Twenty20 franchise, the Shane Warne-led Rajasthan Royals, won the maiden IPL crown and the pair will also link up again for the inaugural Champions League in December. The 35-year-old retired from playing during this past season, having last represented England in the Twenty20 World Cup in South Africa 12 months ago. His first coaching engagement was with England some months earlier, at the 2007 World Cup when coach Duncan Fletcher drafted Snape into his backroom staff during the group stages of the tournament. He then resumed his playing career with Leicestershire for the 2007 season before retiring from on-field action.
