Veteran seamer to leave the Outlaws

Nottinghamshire will release veteran seam bowler AJ Harris at the end of the current season. The 35-year-old has struggled to break into the first team following the arrivals of Darren Pattinson and Andre Adams. "AJ has served Notts well for nine years and he can count himself unlucky this year because our seam bowlers have managed to stay injury-free," said Notts director of cricket Mike Newell.

Commitment

"He's full of effort and commitment and he contributed a lot, particularly to our four-day side, during his time at Trent Bridge." Harris, who is in his benefit year, had a previous spell on loan at Gloucestershire before joining Worcestershire on a short-term deal. "He still has a great appetite for the game and he can certainly perform a role for another county but we want to give opportunities to younger bowlers," added Newell. Harris will be remembered for his performance in the victorious county championship side of 2005, where he took 6-76 in the second innings in the decisive game against Kent.
