Injury to Haddin sees 27-year-old added to touring party

Wicketkeeper Luke Ronchi has been called into the Australia squad for the tour to the West Indies as cover for the injured Brad Haddin. With Adam Gilchrist retiring, Haddin had been handed the chance to stake his claim as Australia's No.1 wicketkeeper - however he suffered a broken finger in his debut Test against the Windies. Haddin played in the second Test draw against the West Indies, however scans on his right hand have forced Australia to call up the 27-year-old Ronchi. "Due to Brad Haddin's injured finger and as a precaution against him missing the third Test and a part of the one-day series, Luke Ronchi will join the Australian touring team," said national selection panel chairman Andrew Hilditch. "The need for Luke to remain with the squad will be decided as Brad Haddin's fitness becomes clearer."
