Hearing scheduled to take place at the end of day three in Durban
West Indies batsman Brenton Parchment has been charged by the International Cricket Council (ICC) with a Level 2 offence under their Code of Conduct.
The 25-year-old opener was reported by match officials after an incident towards the end of the second day of the third Test between South Africa at Kingsmead.
The umpires reported that Parchment ran into fast bowler Dale Steyn during the eighth over of the visitors' second innings.
A statement from the ICC said: "The alleged offence refers to 'inappropriate and deliberate physical contact between players in the course of play'".
Match referee Roshan Mahanama has now scheduled a hearing for at the end of day three's action on Saturday.
Parchment - who was making his Test debut in Durban - could be banned for one Test match or two one-day internationals if he is found guilty.
